05 Apr “Start Talking” Campaign
The World Health Organization (WHO) states there is no health without mental health. Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County Branch (CMHA) has embarked on a campaign to bring awareness to mental health and in doing so breaking the stigma. “Start Talking” and joining the conversation is the first step in achieving this.
- 1 in 5 people will experience a mental health difficulty this year.
- Every family in Simcoe County will in some way be affected by Mental Illness.
- Almost 49% of those who feel they have suffered from a depression or anxiety difficulty have not sought help.
CMHA is thrilled to announce that Shayne Corson and Patrick Brown have joined the cause and believe in the importance of the Start Talking Campaign. The kick-off to the campaign was held at the 1st Annual Start Talking Shayne Corson and Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament on June 22nd, 2012 at Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club.
